Where the Game Pass rumour came from

In early September 2026, an Xbox UK social post briefly described CONTROL Resonant as a day-one Game Pass release. It was deleted shortly afterwards. Several outlets covered the screenshot and the deletion, and the story spread from there.

That is the entire evidence base. There is no announcement, no Xbox Wire post, and no comment from Remedy in either direction.

Why a storefront caption is not a confirmation

Marketing captions and storefront descriptions are written by regional social teams and can be published ahead of, or without, a signed deal. An official announcement is a different thing entirely: it arrives through Xbox Wire, the Game Pass app listing, or Remedy’s own channels. Until one of those appears, a deleted social post is a rumour, not a release plan.

What Remedy games usually do on Game Pass

Remedy self-publishes CONTROL Resonant, which matters here. The studio’s recent history is cautious about subscription launches: the original Control arrived on Game Pass years after release rather than on day one, and Alan Wake 2 never joined the service at all.

Confirmation looks like a dated announcement naming CONTROL Resonant as a Game Pass title, not a storefront caption. An announcement could still come later in the year; launch day is simply not confirmed.
