The Mysterious Dog turns up seven times in CONTROL Resonant, once per major zone. Each appearance is part of a side story called Every Dog Has Her Day, and the loop is always the same: find the dog, find the dragon toy it has lost, carry the toy back and put it in the dog’s basket.
Finish all seven and you unlock the Dog’s Best Friend trophy.

How the side story works
Every stage follows the same pattern. The dog is marked on the map with a white pawprint icon, and the environment usually highlights it — often with a spotlight — so spotting the dog is rarely the hard part. Walking up to it triggers the next step.
The toy is the puzzle. The game almost always leaves a visual clue pointing at it, and the most common clue is a dog-food billboard. When you find the dog, look around for advertising: the toy is usually on or near the building that carries it. Once you pick the toy up, you keep your basic climbing but lose access to some abilities, so plan the route back before you grab it.
The final step is simply returning to the dog and placing the toy in its basket.
Routes to the trickier dogs
West Incursion Zone. Start at the House of Mirrors, head left and Shift up the wall. Run past the car park and the dog is on a Shifted roof directly ahead; jump across and Shift onto it.
Central. Start from the Central Frontline fast travel point. The dog is south-east of it, on the roof closest to East Park Station and the nearby petrol station. Climb the scaffolding along the road to get up.
Downtown. Head down the road running north-west from the Oldest House. The dog is on a rooftop patio. The toy is across the street, on the building carrying the Chowtrap advertisement.
Underpass. Look straight up from the dog. The toy is on the ceiling, held there by a gravity anomaly. Go around to the north side of the structure, use the raised platform to reach the ceiling and walk back along it from above.
What you get
Each completed stage rewards 1x Unidentified Reading and lets you pet the dog. The real prize is the trophy at the end of the seventh stage, which feeds directly into the Platinum.
Because the dogs are spread across the whole map, the efficient approach is to clear each one while you are already in that district rather than planning a dedicated collection run. The trophy guide explains how this fits into a single-playthrough route.
